Using quotes in a card…

The current Caardvarks challenge is about using quotes in a card, so I decided to participate using a similar multi-square layout for the background.  I made the little inchies from a piece of brown paper that I stamped with a floral motif from Aladine and then cut them out with a bit of distressing on the edges with an emory board.  I like the distressed edges because it makes everything look softer.

I put my distressed inchies on a piece of cardstock inked with pearlescent crimson from Brilliance – using a cotton ball btw since I don’t have any fancy tools.  The quote itself is from Horace, “Carpe diem!  Rejoice while you are alive; enjoy the day; live life to the fullest…” inside a speech bubble shape.  The flowers in the lower left I designed and printed myself (check my previous post on digital stamping designs) and also distressed them a bit before attaching them on the card.  Finally added some line marks around the inchies with a black pen and some silver glitter glue for added sparkle.  I like the contrast of the muted darker colors with the happy flowers and inspiration from the quote.  Check it out…
