Paper Masterpieces of Junior Jacquet

Wow, I came across Junior Jacquet’s paper sculptures and creations and it’s really amazing and inspiring.  The official site seems to be just a big image, but you can check out his catalogue of work in PDF form from the link in the lower left-hand corner.  It’s mind-blowing what you can create with just paper and the PDF goes through all his major types of art forms.

You can also check out his work online as others have blogged about it before on http://www.artsblog.it/post/3692/le-sculture-di-carta-igienica-di-junior-jacquet

My favorite are the toilet roll sculptures as I’m always impressed by those who can take used materials and things most would throw away to create something so beautiful.  They have weird contorted faces, but I find them mesmerizing.

Pigeon Digital Stamp

I have been experimenting with birds lately and sketching out different variations.  Chubby ones, regular ones, tiny ones – front view, side view or just the backside.   It’s pretty fun to experiment and realize that a slight shift in line can change the entire image so much.  It’s interesting that every so often these trends come and go in the design and decor world.  For the past year I think birds have been a major motif…wonder what will be next?

Here is a little pigeon digital stamp I would like to share.  I was thinking about how the early bird gets the worm.  Enjoy!

Creepy Crawly

Whoa – I’ve gone for a while, off on vacation the last half of June.  Now I’m back and there’s so much to do, but I am excited and pumped up!  For now I’m putting up this pattern I tried to make, although I still have issues doing patterns properly… you can see the edges right?  Haha…

creepycrawly

The inspiration for the creepy crawly came from these hot summer days and how I always feel like something is crawling on my skin!  Well, gotta get back to paper and do some more exploration…be back soon with more paper love later!
